BORN IN THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS

OUR FOUNDER

Liz Warnock

Captivated by the land, people, and the palette of the Scottish Highlands, Liz sought a way to bring their quiet beauty into everyday life at home.

During that journey, she discovered Highland sporting tweed—renowned for its durability, impeccable function, and storied role as natural camouflage.

What intrigued her most was that these tweeds weren’t confined to earthy neutrals; they revealed sophisticated notes of vibrant color, subtly echoing the Highlands’ own brilliance.

From Hotelier TO TWEED DESIGNER

J&L Tweed began at Links House at Royal Dornoch, the historic Highland manse that Liz and her husband restored into a country-house hotel. The bespoke tweed Liz created for the hotel quickly captured guests’ attention—its colors, its texture, its unmistakable sense of place. Her curiosity sparked an idea: if one tweed could embody the spirit of a cherished location, why not create others that honored the landscapes, villages, and traditions she loved across Scotland?

From that spark, J&L Tweed was born. Each pattern is still designed by Liz herself, and woven by Scottish mills, carrying forward the heritage of the region while celebrating the distinct moments and places that inspired them.
